Astra La Vista
- By rough translation, it means gazing of the stars. ALV was the launching activity of UPLB AstroSoc that was held on August 13, 2010. It was the peak of the Perseids Meteor Shower and coincidentally, a planetary grouping of Venus, Mars and Saturn occurred. The event mainly consisted of Telescope Viewing and Lectures on Astronomical Updates and Constellations. The organization plans to do this annually as part of the AstroSoc tradition.
- This activity is an outreach project dedicated specially for elementary school students which aims to conjunct the basic astronomical knowledge they get from their science subjects with a new and fun perspective view of Astronomy. The organization believes that astronomy in young minds would lead to further interest not only in the said field but to Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geology, and to other fields as well.
- This activity is a quiz contest in Basic Astronomy and Popular Culture. It aims to associate popular culture with astronomical facts and events so as to promote awareness and interest to the general public. The quiz contest done on February 2011 was in line with the celebration of the National Astronomy Week (NAW).
- From time to time, UPLB AstroSoc comes up with interesting exhibits setup in strategic places in the University. These exhibits are informative and in a sense, very interesting. Basic astronomical knowledge is shared to fellow students and teachers.
